Fluorinated Resins

Etna Tec Limited, LLC has developed and manufactures fluorinated monomers that do not contain Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) or Perfluoroocatane Sulfonate (PFOS). With our technology, we can synthesize different fluorinated resins by modifying various polymer platforms including polyesters, polycarbonates, epoxies, polyaspartics and polyurethanes. In all cases, the fluorinated polymer is made by directly incorporating the fluorinated monomer into the resin backbone. Our technology can be used to formulate functional coating systems such as anti-graffiti, self-cleaning, stain-resistant and “smart coatings”. Unlike competitive systems, Etna Tec produces optically clear fluorinated resins ideal for use in formulating clear top coats for critical applications. Our fluorinated polymers can be used to produce coatings that aid in substrate release from shipping containers, grain silos, trash compactors and rail cars interiors.

• This product is a saturated polyester resin modified with fluorine, which allows paint manufacturers to develop anti-graffiti coatings with excellent long-term anti-graffiti properties. TEC 3296F may be used as a co-reactant for aliphatic or aromatic polyisocyanate two-component coatings. Formulations using TEC 3296F polyester and polyisocyanate combine light stability and weatherability coupled with good chemical and abrasion resistance.

• This product is a saturated fluorinated polyester resin, which is used for non-sacrificial (permanent) anti-graffiti paints. TEC 33100F is supplied in PMA. The polyester is used as a co-reactant for aliphatic polyisocyanate two-component coatings. Formulations which are designed with TEC 33100F polyester and crosslinked with polyisocyanate show great light stability and weatherablity coupled with excellent chemical and abrasion resistance. This is our primary resin for the formulation of anti- graffiti coatings.
